Purdue students commercialize device that could convert nuclear waste into electricity

Repositories around the world are filled with around one million barrels of nuclear waste that can take up to 240,000 years to decay, according to the U.S Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Purdue University students Josh Auger, Ian Hamilton and Kyle Harris, and Purdue alumnus Kyle Pendergast have developed a device that could potentially turn this waste into electricity.
